We are currently recruiting for a European Design Manager for an established and growing international construction business whose projects include Schools, Hospitals, Residential and leisure.

Based in Yorkshire and reporting to the Design & Engineering Director, the Design Manager will be the technical authority and operational leader of the UK and European business, responsible for management of development of all refurb and fit out projects.

The Design Manager will develop design, engineering, project and products as part of the business strategy.

The Design Managers duties will include:

*Full responsibility for design across Europe with bases in France, Germany, Holland and the UK
*Provide innovation and challenge current practices in modern and traditional design Providing technical authority and governance for UK and European Business
*Management of multiple stakeholders and direct management across of Europe
*Developing associated supply chain as well as adding value and reducing costs
*Driving profit through design
*Extensive travel throughout Europe

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

*Chartered or Masters qualified in engineering or architectural based subject
*A full understanding of UK and Europe building regulations
*Successful experience of managing multiple cross functional stakeholders
*Extensive experience in design management in fit-out and refurbishment
*Ability to challenge, motivate and inspire
*European language skills are essential with the ideal candidate being 50% mainland Europe based
