2016_Equipment Operator - Ozaukee County - Port Washington, WI

Summary:
The Equipment Operator is responsible for performing various highway construction and maintenance activities through the use of manual labor and operating both light and heavy equipment. Please See this positions job description for more details.

Functions:
Perform construction and/or maintenance related activities on roadways including, but not limited to, paving, pothole patching, shouldering, guard rail repairs, line striping, and/or traffic control.

Perform Snow & Ice Control related activities including, but not limited to, plowing, salting, snow fence installation, and/or post-storm related activities.

Perform right-of-way related maintenance activities including, but not limited to, mowing, brushing, chipping, and/or ditching.

Perform simple, mechanical maintenance activities on Highway Department equipment including, but not limited to, tri-axle trucks, 5-yard trucks, loaders, backhoes, rollers, and mowers.

Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Commercial driver’s license with B, C. & D endorsements, as well as obtaining A & N endorsements within 6 months from date of hire.

1-3 years recent full time experience in a highway construction or public works related field.

Salary:
2016 rate: $20.24 per hour. Excellent benefit package.
