MATERIAL HANDLER - 1ST SHIFT - Young Innovations - Grafton, WI
Microbrush International develops, produces, and markets innovative disposable applicators designed for the placement of controlled amounts of materials in hard-to-reach areas. Material Handler Role Description
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Material Handler to join our team at out Microbrush facility located in Grafton, WI. In this position, you will set up production rooms with all materials necessary for daily production, including changeovers. Perform material transactions in system. Follow all safety rules and company established manufacturing methods and processes and while meeting KPIs.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Inspect materials prior to distribution to shop floor
Using a forklift or handtruck, transport raw materials to production rooms, based on company processes
Check all packaging press materials and replenish as necessary
Put away all unused material from production rooms
Track and enter material transfers in ERP system
Periodically recheck material bins for all production lines to ensure safe levels
Maintain Packaging Presses including inserting clear bags for all boxes; weighing boxes for quantity; taping, labeling and stacking boxes on pallets; transferring full pallets to queued area; and entering corresponding transactions into ERP system
Ensure boxes and packaging supplies are maintained at each line
Prior to end of the shift, ensure ERP system is updated with all material and product movements.
May cross-train on production machine operations and/or shipping and receiving tasks
May assist in training new employees
All other job duties as assigned
Related Duties/Responsibilities
Continues to update job knowledge through cross-training as requested
Performs related duties as required, including breaking down cardboard and placing in dumpster; emptying runner bins at end of shift; and sweeping, cleaning and keeping packaging area clean and safe
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2+ years of combination of material inspections, computer system data entry, forklift and or hand truck operations in an industrial environment.
Ability to read and write in English, take direction and work well within a team
Proficient with computers
Physical Requirements
Must be able to work standing for 8 hours
Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
