SUMMARY


The Equipment Technician for Kangaroo Brands, Inc. (KBI) is responsible for overseeing, setup, and Troubleshooting of the equipment throughout the Production Floor. Working in partnership with Plant Engineer, Maintenance Technician, and the Control Technician, together they keep the plant and its primary electrical and mechanical systems running. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing food safety and food quality, as well as environmental safety in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.


Works in partnership with Operations Manager, Maintenance Technician to perform basic Troubleshooting and Repairs on Packaging Equipment, Production Equipment, and other related Production Systems.


Makes Basic Production Repairs and Oversees or Assists in the Process of Production, & Changeover


Provides routine inspections and monitoring of Production Related Equipment


Supports and follows standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF 2000 as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA


Records and Documents according to procedures, assuring that all equipment documentation is up to date and accurate


Performs Introductory & Continued Training to new Operators & Key Members within the Production Staff


Prepares & Completes Basic unscheduled work orders to support production requirements


Works with Enigneering & Maintenance to maintain daily work list


Remains current in training expectations


Keeps work environment clean, safe and positive


Primary focus of all business related efforts are and must remain that of promoting excellence in all KBI products

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires a High School Diploma


Requires a minimum of two years of Machine Operator work experience including product packaging


Requires basic knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical equipment, conveyors and production or facilities related equipment and the ability to troubleshoot and make Basic Repairs


Requires the development of a clear understanding of food safety and food quality standards and regulations such as SQF 2000 and environmental safety regulations along with a commitment to continuous improvement


Requires the ability to communicate in English fluently for the effective and clear written and oral communication with others


Requires teamwork ability and a positive attitude


Requires basic mathematical skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide


Requires basic computer skills and data entry skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as: Word, Excel and Outlook


Requires a valid WI driver license in good standing for local travel
