CNC MACHINIST - Gauthier Biomedical - Grafton, WI





Summary: Responsible for the setup and operation of complex CNC machinery to produce precision components .

  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates CNC lathes and milling machines, shapers and grinders to machine parts to specifications.

  • Interprets component drawings, studies sample parts, blueprints and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.

  • Determines tooling requirements by selecting the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.

  • Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines; lays out, measures, and marks metal stock in order to display placement of cuts.

  • Adjusts programs and/or operating parameters to make conforming parts; sets controls to regulate machining or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.

  • Inspects components to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.

  • Accurately completes production and quality documents.

  • Performs basic machine tool troubleshooting by utilizing and interpreting operator/maintenance manuals; cleans and lubricates machines, tools, and equipment to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.

  • Sets up and operates metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, and cutting equipment.

  • Maintains a professional working relationship and effectively communicates with coworkers, vendors, customers and regulatory agencies.

  • Understands and complies with company policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and safety regulations.

  • Regular attendance at work is required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
