St. Vincent de Paul in Plymouth is seeking an individual with a flair for fashion and merchandising. The ideal candidate for this position will have a keen sense of effective merchandising in a retail environment with a strong work ethic, good customer service skills and the ability to work as a team member.
Job duties:
- Separate a wide variety of clothing and related donations according to what can be sold and what will be recycled or discarded.
- Remain abreast of brand names, designer labels, current fashion trends and vintage styles.
- Differentiate clothing quality for hanging, pricing and display.
- Organize pieces by type, style, size, etc.
- Price clothing and related donations in accordance with established guidelines.
- Arrange items on display racks in an attractive and appealing manner.
- Make decisions regarding inventory and share ideas and suggestions for selling product based on customer interest.
- Maintain a pace at which one is able to maintain daily quota for pieces processed.
- Place unsalable merchandise in appropriate areas and communicate with warehouse staff for proper disposal or recycling of items.
- Keep clothing areas and fitting rooms organized and clean.
- Interact with customers to resolve pricing questions in a positive manner balancing customer demands with store policies.
- Show a demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and organize work projects, tasks and responsibilities.
- Show leadership skills when working with volunteers.
- Inspire others through example to maintain high ethical standards, demonstrate respect towards others and participate in the goals and mission of St. Vincent de Paul.
