Master Scheduler/Material Planner - AMRI - Grafton, WI





Job Description:
The Master Scheduler / Material Planner is responsible for

the analysis and review of AMRI’s portfolio of materials

and finished goods to provide materials and production

plans for execution by operations and quality. The objective

is to ensure continuity of supply to support high levels

of customer service and to maintain target inventory levels

for the raw materials and intermediates required to manufacture

API and drug product. The MS/MP is the primary liaison

with client and customer services, suppliers and plant

operations management. In addition they will serve as

the point person in the sales and operations planning processes.

This position will drive schedule adherence, expedite resolution

of any supply issues within the site and ensure transparency,

visibility and alignment across all AMRI departments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Creates a master schedule to establish a plan to

meet shipping dates specified by sales forecasts and

customer orders.

  • Analyzes and challenges plant capacity data to

determine manufacturing sequencing and plant and lab

capabilities.

  • Plans and schedules workflow and operations

according to previously established manufacturing

sequences and lead times.

  • Responsible for all direct and indirect material

procurement and management. Maintains supply

continuity for all materials.

  • Provides tools for the labs to prioritize material

issues.

  • Serves as lead for supplier quality management for

assigned materials.

  • Maintains master procurement data integrity.

  • Confers with supervisors to determine the status of

assigned projects. Expedites operations, including

all functional groups, to prevent delay of

schedules. Alters schedules to meet unforeseen

conditions.

  • Responsible for inventory turnover and usage to meet

specifications and requirements. Will report on

inventory accumulation and assist in management of

inventory balances.

  • Responds to and proactively addresses issues raised

by internal and external customers. Embraces

continuous improvement in all activities and helps

others do the same. Progress is measure through the

use of metrics that are reported regularly.

Recommend and implement methods to increase the

quality of products and/or services.

  • Work with others to create an environment where

safety, quality and high performance are core

competencies.

  • Participate in self development activities and

training of others.

  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned in the

course of business.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related technical field.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in resources planning,

materials management, or scheduling in a manufacturing

environment.

  • Previous chemical manufacturing experience is desired.

  • Proficiency in software related to Windows including

Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

  • Knowledge/experience with Oracle ERP or comparable EBS

system is preferred.

  • APICS certification a plus.
