SALARY RANGE:
$52.75 for one-half day or
$105.50 for one full day

Duties
Substitute teachers present instruction in accordance with an established lesson plan and curriculum to students in a classroom environment. AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) Tutors are advocates and role models for the students, responsible for reporting student progress to the teacher. They tutor students individually or in small groups, review the students notes, entertain questions and discussions, determine the concepts which need to be reviewed, work with students in any phase of the writing process, and correct students work.

Qualifications
DoDEA employs the best qualified professional staff to implement its program of learning. In order to qualify, you must meet one of the following criteria: a) baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting association which includes 18 semester hours of course work in the field of professional teacher education; b) baccalaureate degree in any major; c) associate degree; or d) high school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED).
Official college/university transcripts must be submitted along with the application packet. Transcripts must be in English. Any transcripts submitted that are not in English or not official will be removed from the application and will not be considered.
Foreign Education: If you are submitting transcripts from foreign colleges or universities, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. Failure to successfully meet/maintain these requirements may be grounds for termination.
Substitute teachers work when needed and have no guaranteed tour of duty.
