Belgium: Inclusion Standards Project Officer
Location: Brussels, Belgium

Objective Under the supervision of the Director, Emergency Response Unit, the incumbent of the position will be responsible for developing and managing the consultation process for the revision of the Minimum Standards for Age and Disability Inclusion in Humanitarian Action in at least six locations.sensitive age and disability inclusive humanitarian response. The post holder will work closely with the Age and Disability Capacity Programme (ADCAP) project team at Help Age and the MEAL Officer at Handicap International. Based on the results, the project officer will be responsible to produce a second version of the minimum standards.
Main tasks
Organisation
Organise and coordinate a review group of experts to provide feedback on the Minimum Standards and guide their revision
Coordinate with the ADCAP project team in HelpAge and with Handicap International and partners for the organisation of the consultation workshops
Develop and guide the consultation process in at least six countries including consultation tools and methodology
Facilitate the consultations workshop and when appropriate and relevant involve the other partner of the consortium
Compile the results of each consultation in a report and analyse the findings
Analyse the finding of the minimum standard testing in Kenya and Pakistan together with the MEAL project officer (Handicap International) and produce a finding report
Based on the overall findings, draft a revised version of the Minimum Standards
Communication
- Update regularly the ADCAP project team in HelpAge and with HI and other consortium members on the progress of the consultations
Administration
Be responsible and follow up on the budget implementation allocated to the consultations and provision of the report
Ensure the logistic and administrative management of the consultation workshops
Professional Profile and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development or other relevant subject. Lack of a university degree could be compensated by significant experience in the relevant the field of work
Minimum of 2 years work experience in humanitarian/ development context and preferably in a field position
Deep knowledge / understanding of disability, older people or other marginalised groups and their challenges in humanitarian/development context
Good understanding of humanitarian action standards and guidelines
Experience in facilitating consultation and/or workshops
Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment and with multiple stakeholders
