General Labor - Sargento Foods - Plymouth, WI
Responsible for ensuring the production line has all of the necessary component materials and equipment to accomplish the orders at hand in a timely manner. The position requires knowledge of scanning procedures, identifying materials, equipment requirements, equipment operation, and planning skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follows all GMP’s as required by the plant.
Follows all safety regulations and requirements, including proper PPE.
Immediately reports accidents, injuries, and any equipment that is in need of repair.
Reads and understands production orders to verify all product information is correct.
Verifies that adequate raw materials and supplies are available to meet line production needs, notifies appropriate personnel about anything that is short or cannot be located.
Accurately completes required paperwork and data entry for quality and production checks.
Visually checks raw product for foreign objects.
Visually inspects equipment, tables, floors, etc., to ensure GMP standards are met.
Accurately measures or weighs raw materials to ensure proper blends according to production order.
Prepares bulk cheese according to production order such as: unboxing, decasing, removing plastic wrap, etc.
Safely operates, assembles, and disassembles all equipment such as: harps, grinders, cutters, blenders, Urschels, etc. involved in reducing bulk materials according to production order specifications.
Monitors and replaces harp/die wires as needed.
Properly places trim, further processing, and inedible product in the appropriate containers.
Properly moves/lifts pallets; uses 2-person lift technique when appropriate.
Accurately scans warehouse managed items and promptly reports known scanning errors.
Reads and understands production orders to verify all product information is correct.
Maintains, loads, and monitors packing equipment to include minor adjustments and coordinates set up and placement of equipment such as: auto case packer, tape machines, printers, conveyors, etc,
Verifies correct label information.
Loads and stacks completed packages or containers to pallets according to proper loading or stacking patterns as required.
Ensures that product samples are taken and labeled according to specifications.
Accurately completes required paperwork and data entry for quality and production clerks.
Inspects and packs product to ensure product and package quality meets customer expectations.
Properly handles and operates RF gun scanners and replaces batteries when needed.
Safely operates industrial power equipment.
Performs Sanitation responsibilities as needed on your shift which requires the use of cleaning chemicals and specialized cleaning equipment to remove debris from machines, equipment, conveyors, floors, walls, tables, etc.
Assists others in Prep area, Pack area, and Sanitation activities.
Assures that quality and quantity of work produced is acceptable to company standards.
Follows Sargento Code of Business and Personal Ethics.
Trains individuals as assigned.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Regular attendance at work is critical to meet customer needs and efficiently product quality products.
All other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLIITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
National Career Readiness Certificate required.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
Must be able to work in wet environment for Sanitation.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must be committed to high standards of quality.
Previous experience in food manufacturing preferred. Manufacturing experience or food handling experience a plus.
