Senior QA software tester (BELGIUM) - FIS - Belgium, WI

The Senior Tester is the person from the Open Payment Solutions (OPS) organisation responsible for bringing quality-related information to the Test Lead (TL), allowing them to make informed decisions on whether to deliver by knowing the quality of the software at a specific point. The Senior Tester has a close collaboration with the Business Analyst and Developer groups to ensure accurate and complete understanding of the unit under test. The Senior Tester reports to the TL for the duration of the project, but may be asked to act as a deputy in the case where the Test Lead is not available.

He/ She is able to work independently and has a deep understanding of the product / project under test.

Responsibilities

• Reports Directly to the Test Lead.
  


• Responsible for giving the Test Lead accurate information to enable informed delivery choices.
  


• Should be involved in all test team meetings.
  


• Can be relied upon to take over the role of lead for short periods of time, whilst the Test Lead is on leave for example.
  


• Daily Status to Test Lead.

Requirements

• 3 years proven experience in (not-cards-based) payments is a plus
  


• ISTQB Foundation Certification is preferred.
  


• Flexibility, given the dynamic nature of OPS products and projects, this is a must
  


• Excellent Internal and Customer Communication skills including persuasion and listening.
  


• Good planning and organisation skills.
  


• Understanding of AGILE and Iterative development methods.
  


• Problem analysis and judgment forming.
  


• Drive, self-confidence and strong negotiation skills.
  


• Ability to work with multiple ethnicities and time zones.
  


• Commitment to pursuing a continual improvement of OPS software quality
  


• Direct experience in transactional banking or payments (not cards) software and its functionality.
  


• Pragmatic.
  


• A clear understanding of the documentation, able to find and analyse all information as required.
  


• Able to create and execute accurate test cases and tests.
  


• A strong eye for details is a must for anyone in the Testing arena.
  


• Be prepared to travel if required by the project (short trips)
  


• Excellent spoken and written English and French.
  


• Customer facing abilities to fulfill this role.
  


• Support the client on all quality and testing issues as required.
  


• Potentially go on-site to assist with UAT if required.
  


• Focus would lie for this particular role
  


• Effective execution of the tasks assigned by the Test Lead.
  


• Assist Test Lead to provide accurate estimates for testing activities as required.
  


• Effectively help and mentor more junior members of the functional test team as appropriate.
  


• Use the provided tools correctly and follow all processes and procedures as defined (SPIRA, JIRA…)
  


• Ensure timely execution and reporting of the defined tasks assigned by the Test Lead.
  


• Assist Test Lead with the organisation of regression testing
  


• Assist Test Lead with the transfer the project to the support team upon completion of the project
